Tail Twister:   Question: Which state cast the deciding vote to repeal prohibition?

• Prohibition in the United States officially ended on December 5, 1933, with the ratification of the 21st Amendment, which repealed the 18th Amendment. Driven by rising crime, the Great Depression’s need for tax revenue, and the widespread failure to enforce the ban, the repeal returned alcohol regulation to individual states.
• As the 36th state (out of 48 at the time), Utah hit the required three-fourths majority needed to end the 18th Amendment, cementing its place in history.
