Festival of Trees
December 6 @ 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Lions Club’s Festival of Trees Promises Holiday Cheer
Get ready to embrace the holiday spirit at the Fraser River Valley Lions Club’s 19th Annual Festival of Trees! This festive event is set to take place on Friday, December 6th, at the Grand Park Community Recreation Center from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Attendees can look forward to a stunning display of 24 beautifully decorated trees and 8 exquisite wreaths, all crafted with care by 32 local non-profit organizations, which will be available for silent auction. Admission is free!
Children will have the chance to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus, while live musicians fill the air with joyful carols. The Lions Club will also offer complimentary wine, beer, and snacks to enhance the festive atmosphere.
The Festival aims to provide a family-friendly kickoff to the holiday season while allowing local non-profits to showcase their missions and raise funds. The Lions Club generously supplies the trees, stands, and wreaths at no cost to the participating organizations, and they will ensure that the decorated trees are delivered the next day to the highest bidders, reaching areas as far west as Kremmling and north to Grand Lake.
An impressive turnout of up to 800 adults and 200 children is anticipated for this four-hour event. Last year, the participating non-profits collectively earned $15,000 for their decorating efforts, with the average tree selling for $452 and the average wreath fetching $181.
Visitors can support their favorite non-profits without purchasing a tree or wreath by buying “favorite tree and wreath tickets” at the event. These tickets allow attendees to “vote” for their favorites, with all proceeds going directly to the non-profits represented. Tickets are priced at $1 each, 6 for $5, 13 for $10, or 28 for $20. Additionally, the Lions Club awards cash prizes to the top-voted trees and wreaths. Local bakeries and restaurants contribute by donating desserts, which will also be sold at silent auction to help cover the Lions Club’s event costs.
Join us for a night of free, festive fun while supporting local non-profits. We look forward to seeing you on December 6th starting at 4 p.m.!
